The Lotte Berk Method
License Program

Frequently Asked Questions

Now that we've offered them Pilates and yoga and our clients want a fresh unique program, what can we offer them?

The Lotte Berk Method is the next complimentary addition to your offering. It is the only exercise method that transforms bodies into sleek long muscles, firm midsections, and high rounded glutes. The only special equipment required are ballet barres around the perimeter of the studio. The other good news is that it adds another revenue stream for your existing studio.

Do you have an existing Pilates studio, yoga studio or health club which offers mind body programs?

Do your female members, of any age, seek body transformation and ultimate fitness?

Do you want to be part of this ageless classic form of exercise that is proving to be the next wave?

Are you personally fit enough and flexible enough to pass our stringent teacher training?

If you can answer "Yes" to these questions, you may qualify for a Lotte Berk Method license. We are allowing qualified health clubs and studios the ability to train under our Lotte Berk Method teachers and to use our name.
To qualify for a Lotte Berk Method license you would need to demonstrate these qualities:
  • High personal integrity and a commitment to excellence
  • Proven ability to motivate and train people
  • Your own fitness integrity, able to personally perform the maneuvers of the program.
  • Willingness to complete the rigorous 2-week training program to become proficient in the Lotte Berk Method.
Currently our licensees are trained under Lydia Bach, the founder of the Lotte Berk Method. You will have full use of "Lotte Berk Method" trademark to advertise and promote your club or studio.

What is the minimum size requirement for a Lotte Berk Method studio?

The Lotte Berk Method is surprisingly space efficient and requires only minimal 800 - 1,200 square foot area for the studio. Additional square footage is required for the lobby area, rest rooms and the like, depending upon your business offering.

How many licenses will you be granting and where?

We will be granting licenses all over the globe into markets that match the profile for success. The number of licenses granted will be governed by the quality of applicants. Our foremost desire is to maintain excellence, not geographic saturation. Unlike other over-subscribed fitness programs that cause franchisees to compete among themselves, we will allow sufficient geographic protection in each market. We are committed to making our licensees successful.

What are the required marketing and advertising fees?

There are no additional market fees. At present, Lotte Berk Method does not conduct nationwide advertising campaigns, but enjoy wide press and media coverage, which makes it a recognized brand. Therefore there are no assessments back to our licensees for advertising. You are free to run local ads to promote your own business. Lotte Berk Method will sincerely try to get your location mentioned whenever the media interviews us. For example, we were able to get a favorable magazine mention for one of our licensees the very month they opened.

Does Lotte Berk Method provide financing or leasing plans?

At this time, we do not provide financing or leasing plans.

What special equipment do I need to purchase to offer the Lotte Berk Method in my studio?

The basic requirements are a sound system, foam floor mats, stretching straps, light dumbbells, ballet barres (attached to the walls) and walls mirrors. More advanced offerings could include stall bars and light exercise balls.

Do my members have to invest in any equipment or devices to take a Lotte Berk Method class?

No. The only addition may be in clothing. The Lotte Berk Method requires students to keep their muscles warm for maximum gain and flexibility; so coverings for arms, midriff, legs, and feet would be required.

What kind of return may I expect to make on my investment?

There are no guarantees; profitability varies depending upon a number of factors including sales & marketing efforts, studio location, occupancy, operating cost and the ability of the licensee to manage and control the business.

Once we are licensed, can we train other trainers on our staff?

No. The license grants you the right to train the public at large. The Lotte Berk Method, Ltd. must train any additional instructors.

What Are the Investment Components to Be Fully Licensed?

There is a one-time initiation fee to secure your right to use the brand. There is a one-time training and certification fee for you and your instructors. There is a nominal flat fee per year on the anniversary date to keep your rights to use the brand active. There will be teacher refresher training from time to time.

The fees are scaled by location and size of studio and staff. Call us and we can explain more.

Where does the training take place?

At this early stage of our growth, all of the training is offered on the East coast, usually on Long Island, New York, or Florida.

What is the total start-up investment?

It varies situation by situation. There will be the advanced lease payments on a suitable location, the build-out of the space, start-up advertising, computer, phones, and salaries.

Because this is a license opportunity and not a franchise, you will need to devise your own business plan and financial spreadsheet.
